A tri-partite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed amongst Ernst & Young LLP, UK, Millennium Information Solution Ltd., and LICT, Bangladesh Computer Council, at Millennium’s office premises for leveraging the Top-Up IT Training and Foundation Skills Training Programme of LICT.
Under the agreement, Ernst & Young LLP will collaborate with Millennium Information Solution Ltd. to train Bangladeshi youths in information technology to meet the demand of skilled manpower for the country\’s IT industry.
The project was first initiated by the World Bank-financed LICT project of Bangladesh Computer Council under ICT Division and EY on January 13 whereby EY will impart Top UP IT (specialized) training to 10,000 IT and science graduates and foundation training to 20,000 youths of higher secondary level within three years.
Mahmud Hossain, MD and CEO of Millennium Information Solution Ltd., Sarker Abul Kalam Azad, Project Management Specialist and Joint Secretary, LICT Project, Bangladesh Computer Council, and Kamal Mansharamani, Project Director and Senior Advisor, Advisory Services, Ernst & Young LLP, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.
Subankar Chowdhury, Consultant (IT/ITES Expert), LICT, BCC, Md. Mahfuzul Islam Shamim, IT/ITES Specialist, LICT, BCC, and Paramananda Santra, Senior Project Consultant, Business Advisory Services, Ernst & Young LLP, were also present on the occasion.
Mahmud Hossain, said on the occasion, \”We hope to actively work with EY and LICT, BCC, to help in the ongoing and post training assessment and employment of the training participants who meet our proficiency requirements. Not just us, this initiative will definitely boost the IT and ITES industry, and help participants to get employed abroad as well.
